Frequently Asked Questions

Teledermatology is a subspecialty in the medical field of dermatology where phones, computers or other devices are used to exchange medical information in order to diagnose and treat various skin ailments.

Just about anything! We can help with acne, rashes, growths etc. If Dr. Hoffmann believes a procedure or in-office visit is required he can schedule that for you during the consultation. If you aren’t sure, call our office and our team will help guide you.

We offer two payment options:

  1. Self-Pay – Your first option is self-pay, a flat rate of $50 that is collected when you schedule the appointment with our office team. This is typically around the cost of a copayment. There are no other charges for deductibles or co insurances.
  2. Insurance – Your second option is for us to attempt to submit the visit claim to your insurance. Due to these unprecedented circumstances, many insurance plans are covering telemedicine visits and treating the claims as if the visit was done in the office. Co-payments will be taken over the phone at the time of scheduling your visit. The office will submit the claim to your insurance company and it will likely be processed as a regular visit with co-insurances and deductibles being assessed if needed. Should your insurance plan not cover telehealth visits, we will only charge you the $50 self-pay rate and refund any amount that had been collected above that flat rate amount.

If Dr. Hoffmann determines that an in-office visit is required to assess your concerns, the cost of this evaluation will be waived altogether and we will schedule you for an in-office visit.
